Timmy "Tim" G. Leonhart

Timmy "Tim" G. Leonhart, 70, of New Washington, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Center, Columbus.

Tim was born Sept. 25, 1953, in Bucyrus, to Milton S. and Joyce (Dolch) Leonhart, who preceded him in death. He married Cynthia (Sievert) on May 5, 1973, in Bloomville, and she survives in New Washington.

Tim's other survivors include his stepmother, Ruth Leonhart of New Washington; son, Trevor G. Leonhart of Cleveland; daughter, Carissa (Jamie) Sherk of Bucyrus; walking dog, Koda; three grandchildren, Zachary (Riley) Leonhart and Morgan and Landon Sherk; brother, Terry (Lisa) Leonhart of Chatfield; stepbrother, Michael (Sara) Newman of Florida; and two stepsisters, Diane (Clyde) Mann of Maine and Susan (Walter) Phillips of New Washington.

Tim worked as a printer in sales for the Bookmasters in Ashland, retiring in 2019. He was a member of Bloomville United Church of Christ, 1971 graduate of Buckeye Central High School, and was on the first football team at Buckeye Central High School. He was a retired EMT for New Washington Volunteer Fire Dept. and also a former Chatfield Volunteer fireman. He was an avid walker, some days walking 10 miles. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's activities.

Tim's memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at Bloomville United Church of Christ with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville. The family would like to encourage family and friends to wear their Cleveland Indians and Buckeyes attire for services and visitation. Private family burial will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chatfield Volunteer Fire Dept. or Crawford County Humane Society.
