Virginia Adams Obituary

Virginia Louise "Gini" Adams

Virginia Louise "Gini" Adams, 79, of Tiffin, passed away Monday evening, July 22, 2024, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, with her children by her side.

She was born Feb. 20, 1945, in Tiffin, to Louis J. and Norma C. (Huffman) DeMonte. She married William McMahon on Sept. 5, 1992, and he passed away in 1994.

Gini's survivors include her sons, Ken (Tracie) Adams of Centerville, Craig (Sarah Kuczewski) Adams of Tiffin, and Chad (Jodi) Adams of Shadyside; daughter, Amy Diceanu of Dayton; stepson, Timothy (Jill) McMahon; brothers, Timothy (Pat) DeMonte and Edward (Sharon) DeMonte, both of Tiffin; sisters, Jane (Walt) Roth of Lantana, Texas, and Denise (Steve) Reinbolt of New Riegel; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Thomas DeMonte.

Gini graduated from Tiffin Calvert in 1963. Gini was a beautician for many years and also taught at Tiffin Academy of Hair Design. Her children, grandchildren, and family were everything to Gini and she truly never met a stranger. She embraced everyone she met with unconditional acceptance and love and was known to her children's friends as "mom." Gini was an outstanding cook and loved nothing more than to feed her family. Some of her recipes will live in her family's hearts and memories for the rest of their lives. Her children remember waking to see the dough rising on Friday mornings in preparation for pizza night! Some other favorites were her beef stroganoff, Swedish meatballs, cabbage rolls, and ribs to name a few. Gini's capacity to love came from her strong Catholic faith. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic church in Tiffin and rarely missed Mass. She loved being outside amongst flowers, trees, and all of God's little creatures that run through our yards. Gini was known to be a mean hand at cards and was also a wonderful dancer, twirling beautifully around the dance floor with her husband, Bill.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the ICU staff at The OSU James Cancer Hospital for their amazing and gracious care for Gini.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424.
