William James "Bill" Nusser

William James "Bill" Nusser, 40, of Fostoria, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, after a long fought battle with a horrific rare neurological disease, Cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy (CALD).

He was born Dec. 1, 1983, in Fostoria, to Robert and Nancy (Reineke) Nusser. He bore two children with former spouse, Stephanie (Munson) Ricker.

Bill is survived by his sons, his pride and joy, Colin William Nusser and Jameson Kevin Nusser of Arcadia; parents, Robert Kevin and Nancy Joan Nusser of Fostoria; brother, Steven Caples (Christy) Nusser of Columbus; niece, Cora Nusser of Columbus; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Robert Nusser (also by CALD); and grandparents, James E. and Marianne (Warner) Nusser and William F. and Corrine (Barchick) Reineke Sr.

Bill was a 2002 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and member of St. Wendelin Parish, where he was an usher and volunteer. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus, Fostoria, a Scout leader, and he enjoyed being a deckhand on the Sonny-S Ferry. He was an avid lover of sports, in particular any sports his boys would play.

Bill worked at Best Buy Distribution and was an apprentice electrician with County Electric, Ottawa.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, and 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, until the time of Bill's celebration of life at 1 p.m., all at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. At Bill's request, please dress in The Ohio State University clothing or anything casual.

Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will then take place at St. Wendelin Parish Hall.

Memorial contributions are suggested to ALD Connect.org, ULF.org, or The Reineke Family Foundation in care of Fostoria Foundation.

We are saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We will always remember his smile and willingness to help us with the "ditch"project when he lived in Hawthorn Addition. He also loved helping at church when he was able.
May God comfort your family, especially his boys. May you be blessed with memories of happy times. Blessings, Diann and Fred Hay
