Steve Sayers Obituary
September 16, 1949 - February 27, 2025
Steven "Steve" Sayers, 75, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on February 27, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Wilbur and Evelyn (Leybold) Sayers.
Steve graduated from Lincoln High School and Nebraska Vocational Technical School (now Southeast Community College) before enlisting in the Air National Guard. After his service, he was employed at Goodyear before starting his own small engine sales and repair business, until ultimately retiring from the Lancaster County Engineering Department.
He met his wife, Jeanne, when she moved in across the street, beginning what would become a 50+ year life together. After falling in love as neighbors, they married in 1974 and moved to Malcolm, Nebraska before returning to Lincoln and eventually retiring in Olathe, Kansas.
Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne; his children, Shellie (Ed), Scott (Julie), and Bob (Tara); and his three grandchildren, Greyson, Easton, and Avery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Janice, and his granddaughter Felicia.
A celebration of life open house will be held at the Davey Hall (Davey Community Center) in Davey, Nebraska on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember your favorite Steve story, have a drink, and call your loved ones: though not necessarily in that order.

My prayers are with all your family in loss of Steve I knew his mom and dad and sister so many years ago I used to visit you I believe on Hardwood St in Lincoln after Evelyn and Bill passed to bring grief booklets
I am so sorry of Steve´s Passing I so often think of the Sayers family Evelyn and I worked together at Goodyear
