Benigno Leone Obituary

Benigno P. Leone (Benny), 93, of Mendon, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Maureen Leone for 65 years. After meeting her in England, during his time in the Air Force, he brought her home to his parents, the late Donato and Ida (Scioli) Leone of Mendon. He took great pride in his family and purchased land next door to his father's property to build a house and raise his children close to his parents.
He built a career as a Teamster at Varney Brother's Concrete until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting toys and license plates, attending car shows and flea markets with his antique cars, tinkering in the garage, caring for his yard, and football Sundays. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Anne Van Koert of Mansfield; his children, Peter Leone and his wife Denise of Wellesley, Mark Leone and his wife Jo-Marie of Mendon, and Bettina Leone and her husband John Daignault of Mendon; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Leone.
The funeral will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 9 A.M. from the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Church 151 Mendon St. Upton Ma. The burial will follow in the Hopedale Village Cemetery in Hopedale MA.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 4 to 7 P.M.
