Margaret Bennett Obituary

Major Margaret Louise Bennett, known lovingly to friends and family as "Weezie", was Promoted to Glory on March 12, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 6, 1933, in Covington, Kentucky, Louise was a lifelong servant of God and the community, whose impact touched the lives of countless individuals.
For 33 years, Louise dedicated her life to the Salvation Army, where she served as a Major and Officer. Throughout her career, she served the Eastern Territory, a position that allowed her to guide and inspire others in their faith and service. Louise's unwavering commitment to the mission of the Salvation Army made her a pillar of strength and compassion for those in need.
She devoted herself wholeheartedly to helping others, bringing many to Christ through her work and witness. Her love for others, her deep faith, and her compassion for those less fortunate served as an example to all who knew her. Louise's legacy of service, kindness, and leadership will live on through the countless lives she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire generations to come.
Louise's family and the Salvation Army family, whom she considered her own, mourn her loss but celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with devotion, faith, and an enduring love for God's work.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Marguerite Bennett; her brother, Thomas A. Bennett Sr.; and her niece, Rebecca Bennett.
She is survived by her sister, Anna D. (Roger A. Sr.) Parker; her niece, Robin (retired MSG Richard A. Hackett Sr.) Parker-Hackett; her nephew, Thomas A. Bennett Jr.; a brother in law, Roger A. Parker Sr.; her great-niece Renne Grace Parker Hackett, and a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to The Salvation Army, an organization to which Louise gave so much of herself.
A visitation for Louise will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, Kentucky from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service at 12:00pm. Service of Committal will follow at Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, Kentucky.
Rest in peace, Louise. Your work on Earth is complete, but your light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.
