Daniel Campbell, age 75, of Hatfield, WI, formerly of Loyal, WI, died Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Daniel John Campbell was born on November 3, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Harry and Colleen (Moser) Campbell. He grew up in several small towns in northern Minnesota, before eventually settling in Excelsior, MN. Dan enlisted into the United States Navy in 1966, graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1967, served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1972. He was also married that year to Mary Jo Beyer. They had two sons, Brian and Peter, and later divorced. On March 25, 1984, Dan was united in marriage to Jean Haukom. They have two daughters, Melissa and Rachael. They lived in Burnsville, MN, where Dan worked for several years as an auto mechanic.

In 1988, they moved to Loyal, WI. Dan owned and operated DC 66 for five years, and then went on to work as a mechanic for Jensen Motors. Later, he left being a mechanic to become the manager at the Loyal American Legion. He retired in 2011, and he and Jean moved to Hatfield, WI, to live on the lake.

Dan was a life-long member of the American Legion, and served as Commander in Loyal, where he was awarded "Legionnaire of the Year" in 2008. He was very proud of his service to our country. He also served on the Loyal City Council, and the Loyal Fire Department.

His interests included cooking, baking, genealogy, coin collecting, rides on his Harley and UTV, wood crafting, cruising on the lake and traveling. Most of all though, Dan loved spending time with his family - especially his four grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jean of 40 years, it would have been 41 years two days after Dan died. His daughters, Melissa (Erick) Son, and children, Levi and Lexus, and Rachael (Brandon) Zopfi, and children, Aaron and Eden, his mother-in-law, Margaret Haukom, brothers-in-law, Jeff (Nicole) Haukom, and Jay (Pete) Sage-Haukom, and a sister-in-law, Patti (Rick) Sorenson, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Colleen Campbell, an aunt, Diane Moser, his father-in-law, Lowell Haukom and a sister-in-law, Pamela Haukom.

A Memorial Service for Dan will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Neillsville American Legion. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate.
