David Lynn Patton, 64, passed away on Thursday, March 20th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 28th, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Parkway Church of Christ. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, March 27th, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. David Lynn Patton was born to the late Charlie and Cleo Patton on September 2, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas where he played basketball. David worked for Shearer’s Foods in Lubbock until his health declined, making it difficult for him to continue working.
David was a kind, loving man that never missed a hard day’s work and never missed a meal. He had a warm and friendly nature, making everyone he met feel like an old friend. He was a faithful Christian that loved the lord. He loved his family and friends dearly. He will be missed and forever in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Charlie Patton, Cleo Stiggers Patton; sisters; Claretta Devine, Katherine Williams, Sheila Patton and brothers, Larry Patton , Charles Patton and Lonnie Patton.
Survivors include his daughters: Sha’Davia M. Patton, Laterrian Upshaw, Tar-Tazha Upshaw (Taye) and Sons: David Leron Patton, Joseph Johnson (Quay) and grandchildren. Siblings; Brenda Patton, Barbara Rodgers, Vickie Howard (Darrion) all of Lubbock; Drudella McKinney, Linda Patton and Pamela Robinson all of Arlington, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
