Dennis Charles Mason, 66, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Lubbock, TX.
He was born on September 1, 1958, in Santa Ana, California to Arthur Mason and Ola Mason (Smith). Dennis lived a life filled with love, service, and laughter.
Dennis dedicated his life to hard work, starting his career as a skilled tradesman. From welding skyscrapers to home construction and remodeling, his craftsmanship was unparalleled. In 1997, Dennis followed his passion by earning both his Basic Firefighter’s Certification and his Level 1 Instructor Certification in October of the same year. He was a founding West Carlisle Fire Department member and served as the Assistant Chief for many years. His commitment extended to founding West Carlisle EMS where he also became a certified EMT. Dennis’s dedication to his community and his ability to lend a helping hand to anyone in need defined his character.
He had a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a story to brighten someone’s day. But more than anything, Dennis loved his family deeply, especially his only grandson, Samuel Mason, who was his pride and joy.
Dennis was a loving father and husband for 47 years and immersed himself in taking care of his family. He never let his family go without, no matter the price to himself. He was an incredibly selfless father who always had the best interests of his family at heart. He loved his wife, Dana, dearly, and his sons were his pride.
Dennis is survived by siblings Tommy Mason, Donna Lawson, and David Mason, sons Cory Mason and Steven Mason, Steven’s wife Kara Mason (Waite), and his cherished grandson Samuel Mason.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dana Mason, his parents, Arthur and Ola Mason, and his sister, Mary Tanner.
Dennis’s legacy lives on in the laughter of his family, the memories of his loved ones, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity and service. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with love.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Friday, March 14, 2025, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Cemetery, with Ron Bartley officiating.
