Dock Parker Obituary

Dock Parker, 81 yrs old, was called home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 4th, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Ford Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Dock was born to Elmo Parker and Ida McCullough on August 29, 1943, in Vernon Tx. Dock served in the Army and Marines. Ranked as a Sergeant in the Marines he was an expert rifleman and received a National Defense Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Purple Heart Combat Action Ribbon.

Dock had a kind heart and gentle spirit, he was a jack of all trades, whatever his hands found to do he did. He was a loving caring father, grandfather, uncle and brother and friend. He was easy-going and always calm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. We have never seen him upset, angry, sad, or mad. Dock had a great sense of humor; he would always like to make you laugh. He always had a listening ear and reassuring words to give. He will forever be loved and missed.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, sons Dock Allen Parker Jr. and Kerry Barrow Parker, his brothers Melvin Parker and Willie Hall.

Dock leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Deena Moore of Lubbock, Tia Parker (Kenneth) of Fort Worth, Sheila Strickland (Orlando), Adranette Rhodes both of Tulia, Sandra Parker of Stinnett, and Stephanie Washington of Lubbock, his sons Quinton Rhodes (Shaylyse) of Pampa, Skyler Parker of Canyon, Kenneth Yarbrough of Plainview, Walter Yarbrough of Oklahoma, Tracy Barrow (Demetris) of Amarillo, Edward Parker, Terry Parker, and Merwyn Parker (Dianna) all of Odessa, 3 sisters Ida Watts, Mattie Russell both of Tulia and Ophelia Brown (Curtis) of Pampa and stepfather Mark Powell of Plainview and 42 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
