Dorothy (Szarmack) Bohn, age 93, formerly of Ross Township, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in Oakmont, PA.
She was born in Pittsburgh on December 11, 1931 to the late Maximillian S. and Anna G. (Klonowska) Szarmack. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde W. "Doc" Bohn and by her loving daughter Amy L. Bohn. She is survived by her son David (Patty) Bohn of Ross, and her daughters Diane (Gregory) Peaslee of Oakmont and Marcy (Michael) Rackish of Easton, PA. She is the cherished grandmother of Erica Peaslee, Ryan Peaslee, Mark (Hannah) Rackish and Michelle Rackish.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers; Leonard, Regis and Robert Szarmack. She is also survived by her sister Renee Connolly, formerly of Aberdeen, MD, and many other wonderful family members and friends.
Dorothy was known for preparing delicious meals and baked goods, and for volunteering at numerous church events. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing with others. She also loved to spend time with her friends and family. Those who knew Dorothy will remember her strength and tenacity, and her delightfully witty sense of humor.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 4-7 pm at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 22 at 2 pm in the Chapel at Allegheny County Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Duncan Ave, Allison Park. Burial will follow the service. All attendees are invited to a memorial celebration dinner following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to Ross Community Presbyterian Church, 4501 Nelson Run Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15214 or the National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells St. at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs at Harmar Village and Presbyterian Senior Care for their compassionate care.
