Ellen A. Molitor (nee Johnson), age 90, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. Ellen's passing marks the end of a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
Ellen is survived by her children: Margery (Wade) Paeltz, Sue (Regan) Bowman, Diane (John) Michael, Harry (Melissa) Molitor, Lucy (Dave) Guyer, Mary Helen (Walter) Shaw, Tom Molitor, Jennifer (Jeff) Scott, and Angela (Christopher) Murphy. She was a proud grandmother to thirty-one grandchildren and a great-grandmother to forty-six great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of joy in her life. Ellen is also survived by a sister - Joyce Kiley of Dayton, Ohio and a brother - Lou Johnson of Fayetteville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Molitor; her daughter, Jean Bunch; her mother, Zita (Stephens) Johnson; her father, Arthur Johnson; and her brother, Arthur (Buddy) Johnson.
Ellen lived a life filled with purpose and passion. She was a devoted farm wife, finding joy in gardening, collecting coins, constructing puzzles, and traveling both within the United States and abroad. Above all, Ellen cherished the time spent attending her grandchildren's athletic events and 4-H activities, always eager to support and encourage them. She was also deeply involved in 4-H, including hosting foreign exchange students in her home, creating lasting connections across cultures.
A lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Ellen was an active participant in the Altar Society, taught religious education, sang in the church choir, took care of the altar cloths, and enjoyed helping with the flowers in the church. Her unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Ellen's favorite sayings were "I'm fine" and "I had a good life," reflecting her contentment and gratitude for the life she led. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.
In honoring her wishes, there will be a visitation on March 28, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, OH. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Chapel in Fayetteville, OH. Burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery following mass. Ellen's legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire all those who loved her.
Ellen's family thanks all those who have supported them during this time and invites everyone to celebrate her life in the days ahead. The family would also like to thank Queen City Hospice for their care.
Ellen's favorite charities: Women of St. Angela and St. Angela Merici Ladies Sodality Fayetteville.
