Gordon William Sr, Beloved husband of 52 years to the late Patricia Ann. Father of Gordon Godbey Jr., Teresa Godbey, Michael Godbey and the late Kathryn Compton. Grandfather of seven and great Grandfather of four. Dear brother of James, Ronald (Butch), and Terry. Preceded in death by brothers Albert (Bud), William Niles, Pete and sisters Delores Hicks, Mary Catherine Smith, and Donna.
Gordon was afflicted with polio at a young age but he never let it slow him down or used his disability as an excuse. Gordon had many jobs throughout his working career including butcher, baker, mechanic, foreman, and business owner. His favorite past times were going to flea markets, playing with his great granddaughter Lilly, playing the lottery, attending softball games, and hanging out with his brothers for "OG club meetings" Gordon passed away Monday March 17, 2025 at the age of 88. A graveside funeral service will be held on March 21, 2025 at 12 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens 2155 Compton Road in Mt Heathy. Arrangements made by Paul R. Young Funeral Home.
