James "Jimmy" Blevins peacefully passed onto Heaven at his home in Alexandria, Kentucky on Friday, March 21, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Martha (nee. Smith); parents, Edna (Back) & Marcus Blevins; sisters, Venice Lay & Thelma Blevins; brothers, Vern, Marcus, Don, Roy Ed (Delores) & John (Debbie) Blevins and his beloved dog, Maxx.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved dog, Teddy; his caregivers; his devoted twin sister, Janet (the late Jim) Bartlett; his best friend, Conner McCleese; friends, Sarah & Ray McCleese and Lisa Bartlett and his niece, Jackie (Brian) Waters. He is also survived by his sister, Jorheta (the late Jim) Roach.
A special thank you to the dedication of his caregiver, Kay (Khrystian Windeler), all the special people from Bluegrass Hospice care and all his caregivers who all made it possible for Jimmy to pass, as he wished, at his home.
Jimmy had a passion for traveling and meeting new people. He explored various parts of the world and enjoyed sharing stories about the 37 cruises he took and thoroughly enjoyed.
Following the passing of his wife Martha, Jimmy chose to host three international exchange students. He shared his passion for travel with them and instilled an appreciation for the United States. He also participated in the Big Brother, Big Sister program to mentor youths.
Jimmy proudly retired from his career at Plastic Molding.
In his younger years, Jimmy loved to entertain people with his impersonation of Gomer Plye, from The Andy Griffith Show.
A visitiation will be held from 10-11 a.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29th at Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Jimmy will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
