James Edward McClendon, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Visitations will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. James Edward McClendon was born October 15, 1943, to Leroy McClendon and Emma McClendon.
James was a loving husband. His family loved him very much. Everyone that he knew loved him.
James retired from Pyco Oil Mill after 26 years.
James loved fishing, playing pool, dancing, and having BBQ with his family and friends. James loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James will be truly missed by everyone.
James is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy McClendon and Emma McClendon, his daughter Lillian D McClendon, his brother Leroy McClendon, Jr. and Joe E. McClendon., his sisters Sinnie Edwards, Francis Hollings and Josephine Hodge.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Carolyn A. McClendon, his daughters Ardell Anthony, Portia McClendon, and Patricia Anthony, his sons Billy Ray Anthony( Sharon) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Danny McMillan (Marcy) of Fort Worth, TX, his sisters, Emma Mack, Dovie Palmer (Claude), and Carrie Coleman all of Dallas, TX, his brothers Robert McClendon (Helen), Lawrence McClendon, Larry McClendon, and Alonzo McClendon all of Dallas, TX, 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
