Joe Joiner Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 1, 2025.
Joe Robert Joiner, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas passed away on March 31, 2025, related to health problems just two months shy of his 65th birthday.
Joe was born to his parents Joe Robert Joiner, Sr. and his wife Pat. Joe lost his parents along with a brother, Jimmy Don, in a tragic car accident in February 1966. Joe was severely injured in the wreck, but survived, along with his 18-month-old sister, Sami. Joe and Sami were then adopted by Max and Patricia Joiner, who a few years later added a sister, Kasi.
Joe grew up in Lorenzo, Texas, helping some with the family farm, participating in stock shows, and riding motorcycles. Joe went to Lubbock Christian University his senior year and graduated from LCU.
In his adult years, Joe held several odd jobs and spent much of his time visiting with friends at Tech Café or Denny's. Joe was always a lover of music and was a very kind and gentle soul. Upon the passing of his dad, Max Joiner in 1997, Tricia married A.O. Smith a few years later. A.O. and Patricia Smith continued caring for and assisting Joe throughout his adult years, making sure he had birthday cakes, Christmas presents, weekly laundry and grocery shopping, vehicle maintenance, help with appointments, and all the love and care any child could ever want or need. Joe will be missed by his family.
