John Randolph Wolf, 81 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his residence. A Celebration of John’s life will be held from 1-3:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with a short service at the end on the visitation. Inurnment will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. John was born April 2, 1943, in Hollis, OK to Billie Edwin Wolf and Jimmie Lorene (Beavers). He was raised in Loco, TX in Childress County where he graduated from public schools in nearby Wellington, TX. He served in the Air Force until 1967 during which time he obtained his bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State and married Rosemary Gibbons; he obtained his master’s degree at UMKC while working at Armco Steel. Rosemary and John had 2 daughters Susan and Debi. He liked to square dance where he met his wife Linda and continued dancing for several years. He was an avid college football fan and of course the Chiefs; enjoyed attending NAIA Basketball Tournament each year and Royals baseball. Every day he printed the Sudoku puzzle and worked on it. He worked as an accountant for Armco Steel Company and later for the US Treasury Department. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Independence, MO. John is survived by; his loving wife Linda of the home; 2 daughters, Susan Zafer and husband Ghany and Debora Kennedy and husband Thom; a stepson, Richard Shelton; 2 step-daughters, Stacey Kinney and Melissa Lirley and husband Matthew; 2 sisters, Doris Stanley and Linda Dunn and husband Billie; a brother, Donald Wolf and wife Brenda; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Lynn Wolf and a granddaughter, Elisabeth Rose Kennedy.
