"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Linda C. (Vince) Howe on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long battle with declining health. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; John Wesley and Elaine Marjorie (Ranshaw) Vince, her husband Roger Howe, and her only brother John Thomas Vince. Linda grew up in Covington, Kentucky and attended Holmes High School. She married her husband Roger Lee Howe, on April 5, 1965, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Linda and Roger worked together as Licensed Opticians for more than 30 years and lived in several states around the country until they settled near their hometown in Independence, Kentucky. When Roger's health declined and Linda needed to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren they moved back to Fairborn, Ohio, where they had lived years prior. Linda continued to work for a private eye doctor until just a few years ago when her health made it impossible. Linda cherished her family immensely. They had a bond that was very special. She is survived by her only child Katrina Marie (husband James Longshore); 3 beautiful granddaughters: Ashlea Marie (husband Jeremiah Bradley), Kristi Ra'chel (Kevin Mikolajewski), and Mariah Ra'chel Longshore; 10 amazing great-grandchildren Caiden, Alydia, Gracin, Embersly, and Brayzlin Bradley; Avery, Braxton, and Cambrie Bradford; Paxton and Bexley Mikolajewski; 2 sisters Virginia Rose Vince and Margaret Louise (Vince) Ellis; Sister-in-law Barbara (Reubush) Vince and many nieces and nephews.
Linda enjoyed life and loved to travel. Her favorite destination was the Smokey Mountains. Sitting on a cabin porch looking out at the view brought her peace and serenity. She had always wanted to buy a cabin and talked about moving there permanently with her daughter and son-in-law when they retired. Linda had a sense of humor unmatched by many. She was quick witted and kept those around her in stitches most of the time. You just never knew what she might say but you could rest assured that it would make you smile. Most called her a "spitfire." She knew what she wanted and was not afraid to work for it. Linda was smart, beautiful, and loving. A true friend when needed and the best Mom and grandma a girl could ask for. She was loved so deeply. Linda had a strong faith that was tested many times over the course of her declining health. She stayed steadfast in believing that Jesus was with her through it all.
Linda will be deeply missed. Though her circle was small, their love is profound. Her light will always shine, and her memory will last forever. Funeral service will be held at Don Catchen Family Funeral Home, 3525 Dixie Highway,
Elsmere, Ky 41018, on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11 – 1 pm, followed by an interment service at the Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Ky.
