Mack Alexander Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 22, 2025.
Mack Alexander Jr. was born November 26, 1949, in Levelland, Texas. He was the second son born to Mack Alexander Sr. (Pete) and Jo Alexander. Mack passed from this earthly life on Thursday, March 20, at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Alexander. They married on July 4, 1985, and made their home with a blended family of four lively boys. Those four boys grew up to be men that Mack was extremely proud of. He is survived by his four sons: Mack Alexander III and wife Melanie, Wade Alexander and wife Karen, Brad Phillips and wife Carrie, and Bryan Phillips and wife Kate. He is also survived by his grandchildren, who were the pure joy of his life: Emily Alexander, Gage Alexander and wife Lacie, Wade Alexander Jr., Haley Phillips, Scott Phillips, Jenna Phillips, Kara Phillips, and his bonus grandson, Charlie Burger. In 2024 Mack was also blessed with the birth of his first great-grandson, Layne Alexander.
Family was very important to Mack and he cared deeply for each family member. He has six brothers who survive him: Roy Alexander, David Alexander, Danny Alexander, Ronny Alexander, John Alexander and Rick Alexander. He is also survived by his loving sisters-in-law and lots of nephews and nieces.
Mack is preceded in death by his father, Pete Alexander, and by his mother, Jo Alexander.
Above all Mack loved the Lord and His church. Mack was a faithful servant wherever he was, whether it be at Austin St. Church of Christ, Cactus Drive Church of Christ, Denver City Church of Christ, or his loving church home for the past 13 years, Green Lawn Church of Christ. In each place it did not take Mack long to become involved in serving others in numerous ways. He would soon become loved and respected by those who knew him. One of the works that Mack was passionate about during the past nine years was his work with divorce recovery. His care and attention to this ministry was a help to many throughout the years.
Mack graduated from Levelland High School in 1968 and attended South Plains College. In 1973 he began a career of almost 40 years in plant operations with Amoco Production Company, and later on with Altura Energy and Oxy Permian. Throughout his career Mack was respected for his integrity and for his dedication to his work and to his co-workers.
A memorial service for Mack will be held Wednesday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Lawn Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas.
Memorials can be made to the Children's Home of Lubbock or to the Green Lawn Church of Christ Blessing Center.
