On the evening of Saturday, March 15, 2025, Ruben, went to be with the Lord. He was born on August 14, 1961, in Tahoka, to Isidro and Maria Fuentes. Later in life he met Matilda Ruiz cherishing fifteen years together.
As a dedicated custodian at Covenant Medical Center, Ruben exemplified the meaning of hard work and commitment. He approached his job with the same care and love he extended to his family, always striving to create a welcoming environment for others. His sweet spirit and kind heart were felt by all who crossed his path. He was not just a custodian; he was a source of positivity, light, and encouragement.
A man of many hobbies and interests, Ruben had a deep love for sports, especially for the Texas Rangers baseball team and the Oklahoma Sooners. He enjoyed watching wrestling and often spent his leisure time playing baseball games on his Xbox. His favorite color, blue, reflected his vibrant personality—a color that seemed to brighten the lives of those around him.
However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was an exceptional grandfather who played an instrumental role in helping raise his grandchildren, Kia Mia Lopez and Brandon Lee Lopez. His influence as a grandfather expanded far beyond mere guidance; he created memories filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love that will forever resonate in their hearts. All of his family will remember how Ruben was a very loving and good man, a sentiment echoed by all who had the privilege of sharing his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Isidro and Maria Fuentes
