Russell, James Moses, 73, passed away on March 06, 2025 at his home in Lubbock, Texas.
Russell was born September 21, 1951 to Clifford and Juanita (Henderson) Moses in Blackwell, Oklahoma. On May 21, 1977 he was united in marriage to Doris Jean Williams in Bartlesville, Oklahoma who he met in college. He lived throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas. He worked in food service for over 45 years from managing fast food restaurants to working in grocery stores.
He lived a life filled with a love of sports beginning with a love of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1960, the Kansas City Chiefs before Mahomes stepped onto the field, and the game of baseball from behind the plate as an umpire and other sports from the couch or stands.
He was also a huge fan of Southern Gospel Quartet music from a young age. He was also active in church choirs and preschool classes throughout his life at various churches he attended with the most recent being First Baptist Church Lubbock..
He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of Lubbock, TX, brother Delbert Moses of Chillicothe, MO, daughter Jennifer Dela Cruz and her husband Greg of Lubbock, TX, son John Moses and wife Jessica of Springfield, MO, grandchildren Juanita Dela Cruz and Emmett Moses, his mother in law, several brothers in law, sisters in law as well as many nieces and nephews.
