Barbara Fletcher Obituary

Barbara Jean Fletcher

Barbara Jean Fletcher, 74, a loving wife, mother, grandma, and friend to all, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by those she loved.

Barbara was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Tiffin, to the late Joseph and Wilma (Durst) Decker. She married the love of her life, Paul Fletcher, on Jan. 21, 1967, and he survives in Carey. Also surviving are her three children, Timothy Fletcher, Carrie Earl and Amanda Fletcher-Sherer all of Carey; five grandchildren, Clay, Chase, Anthony, Austin, Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Dalilah and Braiycen.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Carol Canode, Mary Burks and Daniel Decker.

Barbara attended Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. Barbara retired from Kroger in Fostoria, from the deli/bakery, and was known for her cake decorating. Barbara also took pride in planting flowers around her home and making sure everything was beautiful and perfect. She loved to travel with family and friends, especially to Amish country, Virginia, and most recently to Northern Michigan with her daughters and sisters-in-law. Barbara owned and operated Pretty Palette Ceramics years ago creating and teaching how to make beautiful masterpieces. She made many life long friends at both Kroger and her ceramics business. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and scrapbooking while in the lovely company of her family and friends. Barbara was a strong willed, loving and caring individual. She lived for her family and enjoyed every moment she had with them. Her spirit will live on in each one of them and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
