Bonnie Rhoad Obituary

Bonnie Jean Rhoad

Bonnie J. Rhoad, 79, formerly of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 29, 2022, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

Bonnie was born Dec. 3, 1942, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital to the late Wayne F. and Wilma (Kuenzli) Miller. She married George D. Rhoad on Aug. 4, 1965, at St. John's Baseline United Church of Christ, Bloomville.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George D. Rhoad of Fostoria; sister, Betty (Dick) Beidelschies of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Joel Miller; nephews, Rich (Mary) Beidelschies of Canfield, Ohio, Rod Beidelschies of Eagle, Colorado, Ryan (Megan) Miller of Sycamore, Stephen (Marcia) Rhoad of Tiffin, and Tom (Kim) Rhoad of Howell, Michigan; niece, Sue Ellen (Terry) Bogner of Holland; great-nephews, Landon Beidelschies of Canfield, Kaison Miller of Sycamore, and Cory Bogner of Whitehouse; great-nieces, Reagan Miller of Sycamore and Aimee Bogner of Akron; brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Ellen) Rhoad of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Shirley (John) Rhoad of Tiffin; and other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman (Cathy survives) Miller and Robert Cover; stepmother, Leahbell Miller; and brother-in-law, John Rhoad.

Bonnie graduated from Lykens High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from Columbus Business School. For a number of years, she proudly worked at Citizens Savings and Loan Bank in Tiffin. Ultimately, she and George purchased Woody's Drive In Restaurant, located in Fremont, where for over 30 years you could find a great meal and ice cold root beer. Here, both the staff, often referred to as "The Gang" and customers were treated like family.

Through the years, Bonnie and George stayed active in the community and their personal life. You could find them at square dancing events across the state, in parades driving their 1948 Jeepster, bringing awareness to Shriner's Hospitals for Children as a member of Shriners' Ladies, at The AMVETS, or volunteering in many other ways. Not a moment was idle for Bonnie as free time was spent visiting family, friends, and taking great care of the ones she loved. The Tiffin and Fremont communities will greatly miss her numerous contributions. Always giving more than receiving, Bonnie was well known for excellent cooking, especially her delicious treats as they were shared around Christmas time, most notably her amazing peanut butter fudge and buckeyes.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the neighbors, friends, and employees for all their love and support.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4628 Twp. Road 173, Bloomville, Ohio, 44818. Following the graveside service, there will be a luncheon at Tiffin Amvet's Post 48, 1909 S. State Route 100, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883. Mrs. Dana (Jean) Riedel

September 8, 2022

Dear George and family,
You have our deepest sympathy. We are grieving the loss of my loving husband, Dana Riedel, so will be unable to attend the services. He passed Aug. 26th. We had seen you and Bonnie not to long ago. Dana probably helped to greet Bonnie. God bless you and your family as you too grieve the loss of your loved one.
