She was born June 15, 1942, in Tiffin, to Edward and Dorothy (Black) Beisner. She married the love of her life and best friend, Dave "Whitey" Distel, August 31, 1963, at St. Mary Catholic Church, and he survives.

Also surviving are her son, Howie (Stefanie) Distel of Grand Blanc, Michigan; daughter, Stacie (Jon) Meyer of Kettering; three grandchildren, Lexi Kay and Jake Distel, both of Holly, Michigan, and Frank Meyer of Kettering; bonus grandchildren, Blake Somers, Tim Webster, Aly Webster, and Charlee Cherniawski; great-grandchild, Kolt Somers; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Leslie Beisner of Lafayette, California; in-laws, Tom (Dee) Distel, Jerry (Blondie) Distel, Pat (Harry) Lucius, and Peg Distel. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nephews, and all her friends were blessings to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Char graduated from Columbian High School in 1960 and was instrumental in planning many class reunions through the years. She experienced career opportunities at American Standard, Sears, J.C. Penney, Dr. Paul J. France, Dr. S.P. Lowry and Allen Eiry Senior Center. But her favorite jobs were being a mother, grandmother and loving wife.

She taught calligraphy to Expanding Horizon children and was a Lamaze instructor to expectant parents. She belonged to several Euchre Clubs, Rummikub Club, Seneca County Historical Society, and Fort Ball Antique Club.

Dinner and a movie were a favorite pastime with Whitey.

Her Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
