David J. Robinson

David J. Robinson, 83, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home. He was born May 28, 1942, in Findlay, the son of Charles and Ruth (Berry) Robinson.

David was a lifelong and active member of the Bellevue community. He attended Bellevue Schools from first grade through his graduation in 1960. He furthered his education at Nashville Auto Diesel College, graduating in 1961, and worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. He spent 19 years with A.J. Baltes before working for Scagnetti Construction for 8 years. In 1988, he began working for Underground Utilities and retired in 2005.

A devout member, Dave was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, having joined in the first grade.

Dave was a dedicated volunteer and served the community in various capacities. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 490 and the Committee to Grow Bellevue. His passion for history led him to the Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum, where he served for over 40 years as a board member, vice president, and past President. In recognition of his service, Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce honored Dave as "Citizen of the Year" in 2009.

A true car fanatic, Dave enjoyed attending car shows, classic cars, and the thrill of drag racing.

David is survived by his wife, Virginia, whom he married in 1999; two children, Mark (Teri) Robinson and Rachelle (Charlie) Wygle; stepchildren, Denise (Mike) Stokes and Anthony Shock; grandchildren, Josh (Ryan Sasby) Robinson, Kelli (Brad Bloom) Robinson, Nicholas Wygle, Evan Wygle, and Daniel Stokes; and great-grandchildren, Duke Bloom and Navy Bloom.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Lorraine (Weisz) Robinson.

Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne St., Bellevue, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
