Delores M. Wellman Wyatt

Delores M. Wellman Wyatt, 86, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

She was born April 28, 1939, in West Virginia, to the late Gleema Hensley Wellman and Paris Wellman.

Delores was a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and steady devotion to those she loved. For the past seven years, she has made her home at Tiffin Elmwood at The Shawhan, where she has become known for her determination, warm spirit, and unmistakable routine. An avid walker, Delores believed every day should include at least four miles on foot. When the weather didn't cooperate, she simply took her walks indoors, faithfully pacing the halls of Elmwood to meet her goal.

Her faith guided her throughout her life. Delores found great joy in serving her church, where she lovingly worked as a youth leader and Sunday School teacher, shaping young lives with patience and kindness. She also dedicated ten years of service to Crestline Nursing Home, caring for others with the same compassion she showed her own family.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert Wyatt; her daughter, Samantha Gruss; her grandson, Bryan Nickelson; her brothers, Ira, James, Fred, and Robert Wellman; and her sister, Dorothy Wellman Brackins.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her son-in-law, Gary Gruss; her grandchildren, Justin Gruss, Sarah (Corey) Ruth, Kate (Josh) Nagel, Erin (John) Henschke, and Brian (Olivia) Gruss; her 10 great-grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Her legacy lives on through the generations who knew her love, strength, and unwavering example.

Family and friends will be received from 9:30-10 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 N. Washington Street, Tiffin. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, 1295 Fairview Avenue, Galion.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Delores's memory to Elmwood at The Shawhan.
