Elizabeth A. "Betty" Beaston

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Beaston, 92, of Fostoria, passed away at 4:08 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born April 16, 1932, in Seneca County, Ohio, to the late Linus Walter and Margret (Gerber) Shank. She married William J. "Bill" Beaston on February 14, 1950, and he preceded her in death June 8, 2015.

Surviving are four children, William L. (Ginni) Beaston, Fostoria, Daniel T. (Mary) Beaston, Fremont, Brian L. (Melody) Beaston, Fostoria, and Peg L. Kauffman, Reynoldsburg; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce (Bonnie) Shank, Fremont; brother-in-law, Dennis Wahl; and her faithful companion cat, "Emi."

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Aubri Beaston; sisters, Mary Stover and Jane Wahl; and brothers, Ronald William Shank, Richard Shank, and Melvin Shank.

Betty owned and operated a cleaning business that cleaned at Modine Manufacturing for 24 years. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Betty and Bill were foster parents through Catholic Charities for over 20 years; they enjoyed raising the foster children.

Visitation is from 6–8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, where a Vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with a luncheon immediately following Mass in the parish hall. Private family burial will take place at St. Wendelin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bridge Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
