Gary A. Nye

Gary A. Nye, 53, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at Cleveland Metro Health Hospital.

He was born Aug. 10, 1968, in Fostoria. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin A. Nye. He married Patricia K. Hoerig on Sept. 18, 2001, in Republic.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia K. Nye of Tiffin; daughter, Samantha Nye at home; mother, Joanne Nye of Burgoon; sister, Diana Hale of Washington; brothers, Clay Nye of Washington and Nathan Nye of Clyde; sisters-in-law, Becky Shattuck of Tennessee, Anette (Denny) Dull of Bascom, Laura (Danny) Thomas of Oklahoma, and Catherine (Jim) O'Rorke of Tiffin; Mary Davis of Sandusky; and brother-in-law, Dan (Laura) Hoerig of Fostoria.

Gary was a 1987 graduate of Lakota High School. Gary was in the trucking business since 1998. He and his parents started FA Nye Sons Enterprises, Nye Transportation, and G & E Truck Service. He and his wife currently own Rocky Pine Farms, Nye Holdings, and Rapid Truck and Trailer Mobile Repair.

Gary enjoyed boating, fishing, and watching his daughter and wife show horses. He always treated his employees like family and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation is 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Gary's funeral will be 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor AJ Lewis presiding. Continued fellowship will follow at Bettsville American Legion.
