Jeannine Marie Stucky
Jeannine Marie Stucky, 86, of Bloomville, passed away peacefully Friday, December 12, 2025.
Jeannine was born September 9, 1939, in Tiffin, to Clarence L. Traster Sr. and Virginia W. Traster (Kreeger). She graduated from Amherst High School in 1957.
Shortly after graduating, Jeannine became a young, beautiful bride when she married Dwight A. Stucky, September 20, 1958. Raised in the city, she quickly learned the demands of country life after their marriage. She embraced the hard work and stood faithfully beside Dwight as they built their life together. They shared nearly 45 years of marriage before Dwight's passing in 2003.
Family was at the center of Jeannine's life. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Rene' Ackerman, Elaine Schubert (Douglas), Laurene Giesler, and Jennifer England (Christopher); 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "GG"; and her brothers, Donald Traster and Dennis Traster. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Traster Jr.
As a teenager, she worked at a local movie theater in Amherst, where she developed a lifelong love for a good movie-particularly John Wayne westerns and James Bond classics. Jeannine also had a passion for gardening and canning, always making sure she was providing for her family. Gospel music held a special place in Jeannine's heart as well and was a bond she shared with Dwight, whose beautiful singing brought her great joy. The Gaither's gospel music remained a comfort to her, even in her final days at the nursing home.
After her children were grown, she worked at Horns Crop Service in Bloomville and later at Gus & Maggie's Restaurant in Chatfield. She was a longtime member of St. John's Baseline United Church of Christ. She served her church in many ways, including church treasurer, custodian, and member of the Women's Guild. She enjoyed her once-a-month socials with Mothers' Hour Club. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 66 years. She served as Past Worthy Matron of Luella Chapter, was a member of Cornelia Chapter, and served as Deputy Grand Matron, District 5, in 1985.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Heartland Hospice and the staff at The Willows of Tiffin for their compassionate care. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort during Jeannine's final days and will always be remembered.
