Larry Adelsperger
Larry Adelsperger, 82, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born June 28, 1943, in Tiffin, to the late Cecil Dwight "CD" and Leona Mae (Sherman) Adelsperger. He married Jeanne (Perna) November 5, 1966, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jeanne Adelsperger of Tiffin; three children, Bradley (Sandy) Adelsperger of Tiffin, Brian (Ceara) Adelsperger of Powell, and Angela (Eric) Elchert of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, Brittany (Cole) Davidson, Allison Adelsperger, Rylee and Gavin Adelsperger, and Braeden, Morgan, and Avery Elchert; two great-grandchildren, Grant and Mia Davidson; a brother, Mike (Darlene) Adelsperger; and a sister, Martha (Keith) Deering of Florida.
Larry was a 1961 graduate of Old Fort High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He spent 23 years at General Electric Company in Tiffin, where he served in management, industrial engineering, and human resources. Larry joined PT Services in 1986 and served as the organization's Executive Director until 2003, then continued in the role of Vice President and Trustee, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise. Larry was deeply committed to serving his community, dedicating countless hours to leadership and service across a wide range of organizations. He served on the Tiffin University Board of Trustees and was later honored as an emeritus trustee, while also contributing to Tiffin Community Foundation Board and its advisory board. His civic involvement extended to the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he was recognized with the Outstanding Citizenship Award in 2020. Larry also contributed to many other community initiatives, serving on boards such as St. Francis Health Care Advisory Board, City of Tiffin Zoning Board of Appeals, Calvert High School Foundation, Tiffin Mercy Hospital, and NOAH Foundation. In honor of his lasting contributions to Tiffin University, the university's Wrestling Complex was named in his and Jeanne's honor.
His legacy is one of generosity, leadership, and unwavering dedication to both his community and his family. Larry would offer his time, his energy, and his help to anyone who needed it. His involvement in the community speaks volumes about his character and integrity. He didn't just live in his community - he contributed to it, cared about it, and worked to make it better. Larry was a steady presence, a source of wisdom, and a great friend. More than anything, he was a role model - the kind you don't just admire, you try to emulate. His work ethic, his kindness, his dedication to family, and his willingness to give to others set a standard. Larry found joy in the simple, meaningful moments - whether he was out on the golf course with his closest friends at Mohawk Country Club, casting a line into the water, sitting with family at the lake, or driving a tractor on the family farm. He had a passion for travel, whether chasing new golf courses with his friends or journeying to new destinations with Jeanne by his side. He never missed a chance to support and be present for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a proud grandparent - cheering from the sidelines, watching them play sports, and always ready with a word of advice. He will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, gave generously, and stood as a constant source of strength and support for everyone around him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Adelsperger.
