Robert Adelsperger Obituary

Robert E Adelsperger II

Reverend Robert E. Adelsperger II (Pastor Bob), 61, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born in Tiffin, January 19, 1965.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Education. Afterward, he completed his Master of Divinity at Ashland Theological Seminary. Following his ordination, he faithfully served as senior pastor at American Baptist churches in Chenoa, Illinois (1993 - 2001); Peru, Indiana (2001 – 2022); and Warsaw, Ohio (2022 – 2025).

Bob is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Andrew (Amelia) and Seth (Arielle); his grandchildren, Cora and Ada; his two siblings, Mark Adelsperger (Bonnie) and Jenny McKee; and his parents, Robert and Kathryn Adelsperger. He also had many loving nieces and nephews.

Bob's life revolved around his relationship with his Lord and his family. He was a devoted husband and an involved father, leaving many wonderful memories behind.

He relished spending time in creation, particularly enjoying walks in the woods, searching fields for arrowheads, and fishing. Bob was also an accomplished garage tinkerer and woodworker, spending many afternoons and weekends fashioning traditional bows and many other unique creations. Pastor Bob will be remembered for spending over 30 years ministering to his flock; he was always a compassionate and helpful ear for those who needed it. He continually sought the glory of Christ through evangelism to the lost and the enrichment of the congregations that he served.

Visitation will begin at noon, followed by a celebration of life at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Perry Chapel Baptist Church, 19476 TR 380, Warsaw, OH 43844.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Perry Chapel Upward Basketball (specify Upward Basketball on the donation) or Genesis Hospice Care (Morrison House).
