Larry Fetzer Obituary

Larry James Fetzer

Larry James Fetzer, 75, of Elgin, Texas, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024.

He was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Tiffin, to Charles H. and Marjorie B. Fetzer. Larry graduated from Calvert in 1966 and received his Associate of Electrical Engineering at Terra Tech. Larry's 23- year fight with Huntington's Disease could not have been possible without the love and selfless support of his wife, Connie, and his loyal puppy, Mocha.

Larry was the beloved husband of Connie, devoted father of Jenny (Todd) and Greg, loved brother to Linda (John) and Betsy (Eric), cherished grandfather of Siena, Jessica, Kyle (Deastin), Brittini (Jay), Savannah, (Devin), and great-grandfather of Kayden, Kyle, and Nash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronnie and Denny; and sister, Carol.

A passionate individual, Larry dedicated his career to being the owner of Fetzer Electric on N. SR 53 in Tiffin for 45 years. He later retired to Elgin, Texas, to spoil his granddaughters. Outside of work, he found joy in sharing his love of motorcycles, both on and off-road and poker runs. He also enjoyed riding the hay burning kind! His love of hunting might have lead to his uncanny need to give all of us rabbit ears in photos.

The cure for Huntington's Disease still needs to be discovered. Today, there are medications that control the symptoms and help maintain a way of life that would not be possible in years past.

Please help us support the hunt for the cure at https://hdsa.org/get-involved/donation-opportunities/.

A celebration of life service honoring Larry will be later this summer in Tiffin.

He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Larry was such a kind genuine person. He was funny always trying to put a smile on everyone's face. He was not just an uncle to me, but he was my Godfather and I remember him walking me on my very first communion. I will never forget you and the impact you made on the world.

Sending our sympathy and hugs to the family. Remembering Larry's camero, fishing all night a BelMar, my broken collar bone at the park near Longfellow Dr. He was a great guy and will surely be missed by everyone who knew with him.
