Lorraine J. Shellhouse

Lorraine J. Shellhouse, 80, of Fostoria, peacefully passed away with her daughters and granddaughter by her side Monday, February 2, 2026, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born September 18, 1945, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Robert L. and Dorothy J. (Johns) Wright. She married Klahr "Red" October 3, 1964, and he preceded her in death September 25, 2004.

Lorraine was the Administrative Assistant for United Way in Fostoria for over 15 years, and additionally worked for H & R. Block. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and volunteered with Girl Scouts of NW Ohio, formerly Maumee Valley Girl Scout Council. While not giving her time to community or work, Lorraine crocheted beautiful blankets and found pleasure in knitting and doing cross-stitching. An avid reader, Lorraine had mountains of books; almost as if she housed her own library, and enjoyed puzzles and games as well. She loved all kinds of music and was a great cook, making the "best spaghetti, pizzelles, and apple pies ever made." She had extensive knowledge of birding and gardening, creating beautiful flower beds and sharing them with her daughters and anyone who asked.

Lorraine will be remembered for her patient, kind, caring, loving, and nurturing personality; her smile always lit up the room, endearing people to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Dan Gee) Pastorek, of Oregon and Kristy (Jim) Pothast, of Tiffin; granddaughter, Lara Jade Pothast, of Tiffin; grandson, Aidan James Pothast, also of Tiffin; and brothers, Robert D. (Loretta) Wright, of Indiana, Richard M. Wright, of North Carolina, and Charles M. Wright, of Youngstown.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Robin Kapostasy presiding. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

The family would like to recognize the staff at Good Shepherd for their caring, compassion and friendship to our mother. She touched the hearts of many who cared for her and will dearly be missed.
