Mary Beth Magers

Mary Beth Magers, 84, of Attica passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at her home following a sudden illness.

Betsy was born December 3, 1940, to the late John J. and Ruby (Felter) Schueler. She married Russell E. Magers on February 23, 1963, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, and he survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Kristen (Buddy) Caudill of Attica and Leslie (Jeff) Thompson of Massillon; son, R. Scott (Jodi) Magers of Amherst; eight grandchildren, Ethan (Amber) Caudill of Attica, Paityn (Cody) Greenlee of Westerville, Connor Caudill of Tiffin, Alexis Thompson of Scottsdale, Arizona, Trent Thompson of Massillon, Cecelia, Carolyn and Charlie Magers of Amherst; one great-granddaughter, Greer Greenlee; a sister-in-law, Janet Schueler; and a brother-in-law, Michael (Juanita) Magers.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jane A. Heinrichs; and a brother, John "Jack" Schueler.

Betsy was born and raised in the St. Stephens area and was a 1958 graduate of Bloomville High School. For many years, she was a receptionist for Dr. Al Tenpenny and later Dr. Glen Stuckey. She enjoyed supporting the activities of her children and grandchildren, following The Ohio State Buckeyes, and tending to her beautiful flower beds. Mary Beth was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and was also devoted to Sorrowful Mother Shrine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, with the Rev. Joseph P. Joseph officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
