Maureen Glovinsky
Maureen Ann Glovinsky, 78, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by her family at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. Maureen was born September 1, 1947, to Bernard and Mary (Dorko) Sherer in Toledo. She was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School. She continued her education at Bowling Green State University, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1969. Maureen married Michael Glovinsky, September 26, 1970, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and he survives.
Maureen was the business manager of her husband's general contracting business, Glovinsky Construction, for over 40 years. She was also the elementary librarian and preschool aid at St. Ann's Elementary for many years. She was a practicing catholic and a devout woman of faith. Maureen was a parishioner of St. Ann's Catholic Church for many years.
In addition to managing the family business, Maureen was also a dedicated homemaker. She was an avid gardener who taught her children and grandchildren how to garden. She enjoyed birdwatching, sewing, cross-stitching, and making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking and trying new recipes and had collected over 100 cookbooks. Maureen loved crafting, especially around Christmas time, making ornaments, wreaths, bows and grave blankets for loved ones. Above all else, she was dedicated to supporting her children and grandchildren in their sports and activities while capturing every memory on her beloved digital camera.
Maureen served on the local board of Sandusky Co. Habitat for Humanity for 16 years, and in addition, she was a member of Fremont Optimist Club. She also served as a Bluejays, Bluebirds and Camp Fire leader for her son and daughter. She enjoyed "Card Club" with her high school classmates, meeting together monthly for over 60 years. Maureen enjoyed traveling to the Amish Country, visiting local greenhouses and recently visited her bucket list destination, Hershey, Pennsylvania, in June of 2025.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael "Mick" Glovinsky; children, Andria (Mark) Marquis, Tiffin and Michael (Jessica) Glovinsky, Fremont; grandchildren, Kyle (Megan) Marquis, Patrick Marquis, Jacob (Maddie Grabert) Marquis, all of Tiffin, and Georgia Glovinsky, Fremont; great-grandson, Carson Marquis, Tiffin; brother, Jim (Cindy) Sherer; brothers-in-law, Bob (Valerie) Glovinsky and David (Lisa) Glovinsky; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tom Sherer.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St.,
Fremont, OH 43420.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St,
Fremont, OH 43420. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
Memorials can be made in Maureen's honor to Sandusky Co.
