Patrick McCarthy Obituary
Patrick C. "Rick" McCarthy, 45, formerly of Tiffin, died Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Gates, New York.
He was born June 7, 1979, in Tiffin, to Patrick and Bonnie (Ambrose) McCarthy. His father survives in Sycamore and his mother and stepfather, Bonnie (Tim Wertz) McCarthy, survive in Tiffin.
Rick's other survivors include a son, Sean Patrick McCarthy; and daughter, Brianna Colette McCarthy, both of Fairport, New York; half-sister, Bobbi Camarata of Granville; stepbrother, Ryan (Jessica) Wertz of Rossford; two stepsisters, Natalie (Tony Consolo) Wertz of Tiffin and Amanda (Brock Wilson) Wertz of Maumee; and numerous aunts and uncles, including Sharon Ward of Tiffin.
Patrick was a 1997 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and he studied at Pensacola Bible Institute, Florida. He worked at Global Digital Instruments in Fairport for 15 years and also at Walmart in New York for 10 years. Rick always felt his New York co-workers were like his family.
There will be no visitation.
A private graveside service will be at Fairwell-Retreat Cemetery, Republic.

Rick will be missed. It is not the same when I have to work in shipping and Rick is not there. Every day we would chat. We talked a lot about politics. He always tried to stay positive. Until we meet again Rick. You were not only a coworker, you were a good friend.
