Peggy Moerdyk Obituary
Peggy L. Moerdyk, 67, of Tiffin, died Oct. 8, 2024, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 2, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Fred and Arlene (Keinath) Aven. She met her husband, Phil, at Central Michigan University and they were married June 14, 1980, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
Along with her husband, Peggy is survived by a son, Jonathan (Katie) Moerdyk of Murrysville, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Megan (Christoph) Schauwecker of Lowell, Oregon; a granddaughter, Addison Moerdyk; two sisters, Judy (Randy) Heine of Traverse City, Michigan, and Janet (Dennis) Zimmerman of Freeland, Michigan; and a step-brother, David (Kathy) Estep of Freeland, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Dee Aven; and step-brother, Jim Estep.
The cornerstones of Peggy's life were faith, family, and the sanctity of life. She was part of multiple Bible studies, was instrumental in establishing children's Bible curriculum at Family of Faith Lutheran Church, and was a co-facilitator for GriefShare in Tiffin for many years.
Visitation for family and friends will be 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Family of Faith Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church with entry accessed from the rear of Tiffin Mall. Burial will be 11 am Mon., Nov. 11, 2024, in Comins Township Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
Rather than flowers or plants, memorial contributions may be made to Family of Faith Lutheran Church building fund or to His Love Family Resources Pregnancy Care Center in Mio, Michigan (http://www.hislovemio.org/).
