Rick J. Strausbaugh

Rick J. Strausbaugh, 64, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Rick was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Tiffin, to Richard E. and Rosetta E. (Brickner) Strausbaugh.

Rick is survived by his daughters, Danielle (Nick) Boes of Forest and Kasie (Kyle) Merical of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; grandchildren, Scarlett, Maverick, and Trinity; brother, Dennis (Kathy) Strausbaugh of Republic; sister, Karen Plott of Upper Sandusky; sister-in-law, Tina Strausbaugh of Tiffin; former spouse, Janet Coppus of Upper Sandusky; and six nieces and nephews, Alexandra Plott, Samuel Plott, Nicole Bischoff, Aaron Strausbaugh, Kelly MacMillan, and Ryan Strausbaugh.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and William Strausbaugh; and brother-in-law, David Plott.

Rick attended Hopewell-Loudon for most of his high school career and then graduated early from St. Francis High School in Tiffin. He was a boiler operator, air tool repair technician, and production associate for various manufacturers in the region. He was also an innovative investor and superior repairman. Most recently, he worked for Kasai in Upper Sandusky.

Rick enjoyed tending to his garden, studying history, and loved politics. He was well known for planning fun family vacations and weekend getaways. Rick was very handy and was always working on projects around the house. He loved relaxing in the pool and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

A private service for Rick will take place with Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating.

Public visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.
