Sherie Borer Obituary
Sherie R. Borer, 76, of Bettsville, went home Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, surrounded by family.
Sherie was born Nov. 18, 1945, in Fremont, to the late A. Zeile and Olive Lucille (Mauk) Humbert. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph E. Borer, on June 29, 1963, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he preceded her in death Oct. 25, 2017.
Survivors include her children, Amy (Perry) Lynch of Bettsville and Vicki (Mike) Kimmet of Kansas; grandchildren, Zeile (Alex) Klaiss, Lucas (Megan) Davidson, Ashley (Joey) Trevino, Mekenna (Jason) French, Alyssa Davidson (Justin Ward), and Madison (Stephen) Crouch; great-grandchildren, Braydin Davidson and Brynn and Riley Klaiss; and most beloved family member of all, her cat, DJ, also known as Dale Jr. She cherished this cat daily with car rides and walks outside on his leash.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and doting over her grandchildren. She never missed any of their activities or achievements. She was their babysitter, taxi driver, nurse, chef, tutor, and most of all, their biggest fan. She was an avid fan of Cleveland Cavaliers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and NASCAR.
Sherie was owner and operator of Zak's Children's Clothing Store in Tiffin and Fremont. She and her husband opened Sun-Days Ice Cream on the edge of Bettsville in 1979 and it is still serving ice cream today. Sherie was a faithful member of Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville where she played hand bells and served on consistory. She was a 1963 graduate of Bettsville High School.
Sherie's funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Bettsville, with Pastor Nancy Smith officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow services Tuesday at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.shookfamilyfh.com.
