Stephen Gregory Kimmet

Stephen Gregory Kimmet, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his residence.

Stephen was born July 26, 1946, in Tiffin, to the late Edmund and Margaret (Hilb) Kimmet. He married Teresa (Kin) at St. Peter Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky November 21, 1970, and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include his children, Matthew (Jessie) Kimmet, Michael (Katie) Kimmet, Alisa (Brian) Berlekamp, and Mark (Jess) Kimmet; eight grandchildren, Sydney, Tyler Berlekamp, Braden, Madison, Marty, Ben Lucas and Dominic Kimmet; a brother, David Kimmet; a sister, Kathleen (David) Laube; and a brother-in-law, John Lutz.

Stephen worked for Whirlpool for 24 years, and Marshall Melhorn Law for 16 years, Ward Law for three years. He taught at Heidelberg and Tiffin University. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic minister. Stephen earned a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from the University of Toledo and a master's degree in electrical engineering also from the University of Toledo and received a master's degree in business from Tiffin University. Stephen was very active and enjoyed golf, tennis, running, and walking. Stephen held multiple patents during his life. He also enjoyed researching Kimmet genealogy and wrote several books about Kimmet family history.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward Kimmet; three sisters, Jacquelyn Panuto, Constance Lutz, and Barbara Liston; and a brother-in-law, Joe Panuto.

Stephen's family would like to thank Bridge Hospice for their compassionate care given to the family during this difficult time.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass at church.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow services Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, St. Joseph Catholic Church, or charity of the donor's choice.
