Dorothy Kessler Obituary

Dorothy Kessler

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dorothy Marie Kessler. She passed peacefully at the home of her granddaughter, Ashlee Shenefield, where she was lovingly cared for the last five weeks.

She was born May 6, 1939 in Saltville, Virginia, to Shirley and Hazel (Sayer) Elmore Bianchi. She was raised in Kirby and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Upper Sandusky High School. She married the love of her life, Harold Kessler, on July 26, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kirby. They were blessed to spend 58 years of marriage together. Harold passed away March 19, 2018.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Diane Channing of Bellevue, Lori (Don) Skaggs of Bucyrus, John Kessler of McCutchenville, Sharon (Greg) Keller of Shelby, and Angela (Don) Michaels of Burgoon; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Irene Allen of Tiffin, Mary (Dan) Chester of Pataskala, and Aleta (Dwayne) Lykins of Tiffin; and three brothers, Bob Bianchi of Upper Sandusky, Dave Bianchi of Carey, and Jim (Betty) Bianchi of Carey.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janice Hoy; and brother, Jack Bianchi.

Her favorite calling and favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. She was employed at Tidy Team in Upper Sandusky and Our Place in Tiffin besides being a homemaker. She loved to camp, feed the birds especially her hummingbirds, and make trips to Kentucky and Shiloh to deliver things for needy people. You never left her house without a full belly. She loved passing the time by playing cards. She will be dearly missed by the ladies of St. Pius X rosary group.

Dorothy's funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, with Father Matt Radar officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.

Memorial contributions can be made to Wyandot County Right to Life or St. Pius X Catholic Church in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio, 44882.
