Vivian Ada Collins Hill

Vivian Ada Collins Hill, 93, of Tiffin, gave up her post here on earth at 7:32 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2026. She grabbed her Bible, bonnet, and tambourine and headed home to glory.

She was born September 28, 1932, on Steaner Farm Fleet Road, Tiffin, to the late Horace and Irene (Sours) Collins. She married Melvin "Tip" W. Hill Sr, June 10, 1950, at Salvation Army in Tiffin. Surviving are their children, Ada (John) Holman, Sycamore, Melvin W. (Jean Copley) Jr., Tiffin, and Amy (Rick) Kopp, Tiffin; and daughter-in-law, Jan Hill, Findlay.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Carl Hill, four brothers, and five sisters.

Vivian was the Corps Sergeant Major of the Tiffin Salvation Army until her health forced her into retirement. She spent her life standing kettles, teaching Sunday School, leading Sunbeams and doing the tavern route. Whatever needed to be done, she saw to it that it got done. She loved all her duties, but especially taking Christmas applications, buying the toys, and making sure every family had food and toys under the tree.

Funeral services for Vivian will be private. Burial will be at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.
