Glen LaFountaine Obituary

Glen Joseph LaFountaine

Glen Joseph LaFountaine, 73, of Tiffin, passed away the morning of Saturday January 3, 2026, at Saint Francis Home in Tiffin, following a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Glen was born February 29, 1952, in Tiffin, to the late Peter and Mary Ann (Feck) LaFountaine. He is survived by his son, Nicholas (Paige) LaFountaine of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his beloved granddaughter, Siobhan; three brothers, Gerard, Kevin, and Eric; two sisters, Jeanne and Ramona; and his brother-in-law, Rick Hoffman, husband of his late sister Karen; along with their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Linda, Leona, and Karen.

Glen was a graduate of New Riegel High School and was a man of many trades. He enjoyed work and leisure activities that allowed him the opportunity to solve problems and learn. Throughout his life, he maintained a sense of curiosity and wonder. He was a prodigious reader whose Kindle was always fired up and at his side. There was invariably a jigsaw puzzle or Lego set in progress on his table, and his eyes would light up when asked about his current project. Glen especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, who was very dear to him, and he took great pride in sharing her latest pictures with anyone he met.

Glen was a long-term resident of Saint Francis Home. His family is deeply grateful for the sanctuary, healing environment, and companionship he found there. Glen expressed how much he loved this community and how much the people there meant to him.

A private family gathering will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Saint Francis Senior Ministries at https://csjinitiatives.org/tiffin/donations/ in honor of Glen's memory.
