James Babcock Obituary

James M. Babcock

James M. Babcock, 77, of rural Sycamore, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at home. He was born March 15, 1947, in Sycamore, to Clifford and Katherine (England) Babcock. He married Barbara (Gallant) Babcock on September 27, 1969, and she died December 8, 2015.

James is survived by his girlfriend of eleven years Ollie Hill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Myron Babcock and Ted Babcock plus a sister, Mary Naugle.

Jim was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He enjoyed going coon hunting, turtle hunting and fishing. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a purple heart for his valiant efforts.

Jim's wishes were to be cremated, a graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250 will conduct a military graveside service.

Memorial contributions can be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital Hospice in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio 44882.
