Julia Ann Tiell

Julia Ann Tiell, 82, of New Riegel, passed away Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

She was born July 2, 1942, in Fostoria to Urban and Mary Ann (Beck) Elchert. On July 14, 1962, she married Edward Tiell.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Tiell of New Riegel; son, Doug (Jacque) Tiell of New Riegel; daughter, Deirdre (Matt Corwin) Bakies of Galloway; brother, Justin (Darlene) Elchert of New Riegel; sister, Mary Nadine Ward of New Riegel; three grandchildren, Kristen (Tyler Knowlton) Tiell, Candace (Derek) Sallee and Mason Bakies; and five great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Jory, Jacqui, Nash and Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Tiell; sister, Thrasilla Keefe; and brother-in-law, James Ward.

Julia graduated in 1960 from St. Wendelin High School. She retired from Meijer and was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel. Julia was a piano teacher and played the organ at church. She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, gardening, cross stitching, traveling, and western square dancing with Ed. She was a collector, and had shelves of genealogy research. Most of all, Julia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with family from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Bridge Hospice Care, NBS Joint Fire District or All Saints Parish.
