Lyn Bell Obituary
Lyn M. Bell, 82, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at home.
He was born June 30, 1940, in Sycamore, to Franklin and Mary (Gregg) Bell Sr.
Lyn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Irene (Breyley) Bell; son, Ashton (Kathleen) Bell; daughters, Faith (Christian) Andrews and Camilla Bell; grandchildren, Molly Kathleen Noce, Justin Marshall Leighton, Paige Marie Waites, Hannah Elizabeth (Isaac) Bulman, Noah James (Kacie) Bell, and Josiah Cole Bell; two great-grandchildren, Asher James Bulman and Ezekiel Samuel Bell; brothers, Lyle (Sheila) Bella and Michael (Sue) Bell; and sister, Sue (Duane) Durbin.
Lyn was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Charles, John, Lewis, Lester, and Robert Bell; and sisters, Enza Fadley and Mary Etta Hemmerly.
Lyn graduated from Sycamore High School. Following his graduation, Lyn enlisted in U.S. Navy where he served four years and three days. After his tour with the Navy, he continued his education to receive a four-year degree from Bowling Green State University. He received a Master's degree in Education from University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lyn was a high school english teacher at Wayne Trace High School and Lincolnview High School.
Lyn was a devoted husband, dad, granddad, and great-granddad.
Lyn's celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Amy Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, where Sycamore American Legion Post # 250 will conduct a military graveside service. Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to ALS Foundation, NC Chapter, 4N, Blount Street, Suite 200, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27601.
