Mary Lust

Mary K. Lust, 96, formerly of Sycamore, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Trustwell Living at Carlisle Place, Bucyrus.

She was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Tiffin, to John C. and Alice M. (Benchoff) Walter. She married Calvin A. Lust on Aug. 15, 1948, and he died Nov. 21, 2015.

Mary is survived by her children, Ronald (Becky) Lust of rural Sycamore, Carol (Kenny) Burger of New Washington, Gloria (Kevin) Studer of rural Sycamore, Duane (Jill) Lust of Bucyrus, Dwight (Patty) Lust of rural Sulphur Springs, Ohio, and John Lust of Elwood, Pennsylvania; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Robert Bailey of Michigan.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Studer in 1983; brother, Harold Walter; and two sisters, Marguerite Wonderling and Martha Lou Bailey.

Mary was a homemaker and 1945 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She received a two year degree in business from Tiffin University and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was a former member of the former Lykens Community Club, loved to volunteer at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, and was active with the Woman's Guild of the church and the Woman's Circle of the church. She also was a member of Crawford County Farm Bureau and in her spare time, she loved to play cards.

Mary's funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at St. John's Baseline United Church of Christ with Pastor Mike Ebersole officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Baseline Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
