Mary M. Tiell
Mary M. Tiell, 81, of Fostoria, passed away peacefully at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Fostoria, to the late Marion M. and Agnes M. (Reinhart) Frankart. She married Michael L. "Mike" Tiell on May 14, 1960, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and he survives in Fostoria.
Mary is also survived by her sons, Douglas (Penney) Tiell of
Dunnellon, Florida, Brian Tiell of Fostoria, and Jim (Jackie) Tiell of Carey; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Gossard, Joey (Bethany) Tiell, Adam Tiell, Alex Tiell, Justin (Erin) Tiell, Keith (Jessica) Tiell, and April (Emerson) Schroeder; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Albert (Janet) Frankart of Fostoria, Jim (Judy) Frankart of Virginia, and Paul (Carol) Frankart of Fostoria; and three sisters, Shirley (Alan) Ryman of Fostoria, Alice Daugherty of Fostoria, and Pauline (Aubrey) Hess of Tiffin.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Tiell; great-grandson, Jackson Gossard; two brothers, Leonard and Bernard Frankart; and six sisters, Mildred Frankart, Martha Kuhn, Dolores Cramer, Helen Taylor, and infant sisters, Barbara Ann and Bernadette.
Mary was a homemaker and member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church. She graduated in 1959 from St. Wendelin High School and later taught elementary CCD classes for many years at the school. She was a member of Catholic Ladies of Columbia and distributed Holy Communion to shut-ins for many years.
Mary was a faith-filled woman who dearly loved her family and especially the girl trips with her sisters. She enjoyed crocheting, hunting for arrow heads, and puzzles.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St.,
Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil service will take place at 4:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fostoria. A funeral luncheon will take place at St. Wendelin Parish Hall.
